Denver’s famous grande dame, The Brown Palace Hotel, is in one honey of a business. Literally. First, they started a honey colony on the rooftop of the 120 year-old building and enjoyed the fruit-or at least the nectar-of their hard work. The honey is used for spa treatments, afternoon teas and other recipes perfected in the kitchen. But the Brown knows how to play it old school every now and again. In fact, last August, The Wynkoop and Breckenridge Brewery co-created a beer in a joint venture effort to celebrate the Great American Beer Fest. Rooftop Honey Saison, made with honey from the Brown Palace bees, was available at all three establishments. Forget cross-marketing and just go for cross-pollination.
